Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Clinical Hypnotherapy

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD is a severe reaction that can occur when a person has experienced, witnessed or was otherwise confronted with one or more events that actually involved or threatened death, serious injury or some other threat to the physical integrity of that individual or others. The person’s response to this trauma includes intense feelings of horror, fear or helplessness. Most survivors of trauma return to normal given a little time. But for PTSD sufferers, these feelings do not subside and in some cases can get worse, often months or even years after the traumatic event.

PTSD sufferers can experience a number of different symptoms, including reliving the trauma with nightmares, intrusive thoughts and flashbacks. Many sufferers avoid memories associated with the traumatic experience and avoid places or people that remind them of it. This can make them feel isolated affecting relationships and family life. Some become abnormally hyper-vigilant, irritable and may have problems sleeping.

Thames Valley Hypnotherapy Clinic specialises in treating people affected by Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.  We use a number of clinical methods including the ground breaking Rewind Technique, a non-intrusive, safe and highly effective psychological method, currently used to successfully treat PTSD within the Military, Emergency Service personnel, victims of physical, sexual or violent assault and serious accidents.
